Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.
Today’s story has an intriguing cast, each holding their own mysteries in a dying world. It’s written by Kelly N. Jane, a USA Today best-selling author who writes royally epic fantasy set in elaborate secondary worlds, rich with slow-burn romance, myth, magic, and fast-paced action. She’s also a lover of sassy chihuahuas and bobbed tail cats. I did a bit of a double take on that one because we actually get bobcats in our backyard because I live sort of on the edge of a desert town and I do not like when they show up in our yard around our kids or our five-pound dog which, like a sassy chihuahua, would be a snack to a bobcat. But I’m guessing bobbed tail cats are a certain kind of cat which goes to show how little I know about cats.
Anyway, Kelly’s coffee mug is always full and she believes dessert goes with every meal. I’m totally on board with the second of those two statements. When not in front of her keyboard, she’s probably reading, painting, playing with yarn, or lost in her imagination.
