Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.

Today’s story delves into the darker side of humanity, but with a bit of a twist as it follows an assassin who has gone undercover as a monk for his own nefarious purposes. It’s written by Eric T. Knight and narrated by Paeter Frandsen, host of Christian Geek Central. Eric grew up on a working cattle ranch in the desert 30 miles from Wickenburg, Arizona, which is weirdly not that far from me, and at that time was exactly the middle of nowhere, leaving his primary form of escape as reading.

After attempting journalism two separate times, he dropped it when he realized that he had no intention of conducting interviews with actual people, but preferred simply making them up. In addition to being an author, Eric has a super cool audiobook platform that I want to share with you all. It’s great for both authors and readers to check out, so make sure you stick around to the end or check out today’s show notes to hear more about it.

For now, please enjoy Oblivion by Eric T. Knight.

Paeter (00:01:17) –  Oblivion is read by Paeter Frandsen. Due to copyright, the full transcript of the story cannot be included here.

Karyne (oo:00:00) – I hope you enjoyed listening to Oblivion by Eric T. Knight, narrated by Paeter Frandsen of Christian Geek Central. If you want to read more by Eric, his website is currently under construction, so you can find him on his Amazon author page, which you can search for on Amazon, but I will also link directly to it in the show notes.

I also highly encourage you to check out his audiobook project, Storyfair, which can be found on storyfair. net. It’s an audiobook distributor, which means it’s similar to Audible or Spotify in that you can go there to purchase audiobooks, but it’s being run with authors in mind. It has high royalty rates, no contracts, fast payments, and they’re even introducing an affiliate program unlike any other distributor.

If you’re an author, I know that sounds great, so go check it out. And if you’re a reader, here’s how it benefits you. Some of the authors are able to have their books for sale for lower prices on the site because of the higher royalties. So those savings are going back to you. And it’s a great way to make sure the authors you love are getting more of your money instead of some third party distributor, because that means they’ll be able to write more books for you to enjoy. So go check it out at storyfair.net.

If you enjoyed listening to Paeter narrate the story, you might also enjoy listening to his podcast, Christian Geek Central, where he discusses movies, video games, and all things enjoyed by self proclaimed geeks from a Christian worldview.

If you liked this story, please consider sharing it with a friend, preferably a friend who would also enjoy this story, but there are links in the show notes to make that as easy as possible for you.

As always, thank you all for listening and happy reading.

Featured Author

Eric T. Knight

Eric T. Knight grew up on a working cattle ranch in the desert thirty miles from Wickenburg, Arizona, which at that time was exactly the middle of nowhere. Work, cactus and heat were plentiful, forms of recreation were not. The TV got two channels when it wanted to, and only in the evening after someone hand cranked the balky diesel generator to life. All of which meant that his primary form of escape was reading.

At 18 he escaped to Tucson where he attended the University of Arizona. A number of fruitless attempts at productive majors followed, none of which stuck. Discovering he liked writing, the author tried journalism two separate times, but had to drop it when he realized that he had no intention of conducting interviews with actual people but preferred simply making them up.

Find him on his Amazon author page.
