Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.
You’ll want to stick around for today’s story if you like books, mysterious magic, and bumbling apprentices. It’s written by Laurel A. Burlew, a Colorado-based author who writes stories that transport readers to other worlds. As a multi-genre author, she writes a little bit of everything, but has a deep passion for the boundless creativity found in fantasy. She’s been published in anthologies and devotionals for the past ten years and is currently working on both a children’s book series, and a darker fantasy series. As part of the chronic illness community, she uses her passions to spread awareness of disabling conditions like her own. When not writing fantasy steeped in magic and meaning, she’s often reading, playing piano, or rewatching Pride & Prejudice for the hundredth time.
