Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.

Today you get the privilege of hearing two stories from one fantastic author. Every once in a while, I throw out requests to authors who I don’t expect to hear back from because while the podcast is growing, it’s still not worth the attention of every author out there. I’ve had a couple close calls with authors willing to let me share their stories, but their contracts prevented them. I have no connections with K.M. Shea, so I was thrilled when she not only gave me permission to share the Duke’s New Clothes, but she also threw out The Robber Maiden for me to share.

Kitty is known for both her fairy tales and urban fantasy, although today’s stories are from her fairy tale collection. She loves to write funny, clean stories with strong characters. Her philosophy is that life is tough, so books should be something that make you relax and laugh. The first story is one that I picked because I thought it was such a fun one to share, but the second story has a connecting series if you want to keep reading more. I’ll be narrating the stories, but stick around to the end or check out today’s show notes to see where you can find more from Kitty, as well as my own big announcement.

For now, please enjoy The Duke’s New Clothes and The Robber Maiden by K.M. Shea.

Karyne (00:01:43) –  The Duke’s New Clothes and The Robber Maiden are read by Karyne Norton. Due to copyright, the full transcript of the story cannot be included here. Please go to kmshea.com to get your free copy of the short story.

Karyne (00:45:10) – I hope you enjoyed listening to The Duke’s New Clothes and The Robber Maiden by K.M. Shea, narrated by Karyne Norton. If you want to read more by Kitty, go to kmshea.com to find more of her books. The Robber Maiden is part of her Snow Queen series, so you may want to start with that.

I mentioned that I had my own big announcement, which probably sounded more ominous than it needed to. Thankfully, people no longer assume I’m pregnant when I say something like that, but I do have a brand new book baby that entered the world yesterday. Blood of the Stars was first released with the Kickstarter I ran last fall, but now it’s available in paperback and hardcover through most retailers, and it’s available on ebook through Amazon. If you have a Kindle Unlimited membership, it’s free to read in there as well. The audiobook will be coming, but we don’t have an exact release date for that, and it will be read by Paeter and me. If you enjoyed listening to my prequel short story back on Episode 16 in September, you’ll love getting to hear how things play out for Gaeren and Aeliana in Blood of the Stars. I’ll have links for you to find it in the show notes.

Thank you all for listening, and happy reading.
