Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.
This week’s story is one of my own and it’s a shameless plug for the Kickstarter I launched this morning. If you’ve been listening for any length of time, by now you know I have an epic fantasy series called The Half-Light Chronicles featuring a world divided by magical barriers and filled ancient artifacts, prophecies, and found family. In honor of today being my birthday I’m launching the third book in the series on Kickstarter, so I’m sharing a short story from that world with all of you.
Chronologically it takes place around the middle of book 2, and it highlights elements of Book 2 that I intentionally left a bit mysterious, but it can be read at any time. I chose to flesh this story out because I had so many requests for more from this small part of my world, where people can grow fins and scales to live in the water.
