Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.

Today, I am bringing back a well-loved author from season 1, but this story is quite different from the first. Both have a female lead character and both have dragons, but while the first held playful banter and adventure, this one is a little more serious and steeped in rich culture with unique magic. If you haven’t guessed, it’s written by USA Today best-selling author Alice Avinya, who writes low-spice fantasy and fairy tales. She lives in Bristol, UK, and her favorite authors are Holly Black and Brandon Sanderson. When she’s not off gallivanting in other worlds, you can find her looking after her two young sons, hanging out with her church family, or walking the best dog in the world with her husband. I mean, I’m going to read that to you all because that’s the info she gave me for her bio, but I’m going to argue that my dog is better, mostly because I feel a little disloyal saying someone else has the best dog, when I clearly think I have the best dog. Besides, those of you who get my newsletter have seen my dog, and some of you might agree.

Anyway, stick around to the end or check out today’s show notes to see where you can find more from Alice, as well as how to enter our end of the season giveaway. For now, please enjoy Wind and Silk by Alice Avinya.

Karyne (00:54:28) – I hope you enjoyed listening to Wind and Silk by Alice Ivinya, narrated by Karyne Norton. If you want to read more by Alice, go to aliceivinya.com to find more of her books. She recently released Ties of Deception, which is a super fun multi-author series that’s been releasing a new book every week from some fantastic romantasy authors, so I actually recommend checking out the whole series, which I’ll have links in the show notes for. And if you enjoyed Alice’s short story, she often gives out free short stories on her newsletter, which you can snag by going to sendfox.com/aliceivinya.

This month we are running a giveaway from current and past featured authors, so if you want a chance to win, go to findingfantasyreads.com/giveaway to enter.

Because next week is our last episode of the season, I will be posting a link with that episode for everyone to place their votes for the Finding Fantasy Reads awards. It will be posted in the newsletter and show notes, so make sure you don’t miss it. Voting will be live for one week, and the winners will be announced one week after that.

One of the best ways you can keep this podcast going for future seasons is to share it with a friend. Whether it’s this episode or another, send a link to a friend you think might enjoy listening. Another great way to spread the word is by participating in summer reading challenges. I know of several Facebook groups who run summer reading challenges, giving you points and prizes for reviewing books. So every time you share a review for a podcast episode, you’ll help spread the word while also earning prizes for yourself. Trust me, it’s a win-win for your summer plans. I’ll have a link to Indie Fantasy Addicts, which is the most popular one I know of, but don’t hesitate to hunt down others you might like better.

As always, thank you all for listening, and happy reading.
